Hi I'm Rachel

FIRST AND FOREMOST, MY PASSION LIES IN MASTERING SKIN HEALTH

As the largest living and breathing organ, I love understanding how it works, respecting the skin and working with what the skin does naturally and most importantly keeping its natural barrier intact! I enjoy sharing my skincare expertise incorporating a scientific and holistic based approach to improving individual skin health. No two skins are the same.

Understanding your own skin is essential as around 80% of your skin’s behaviour is what you do to your skin; I help clients learn why their skin behaves the way it does, the impact of diet and lifestyle, help them find out what skincare ingredients would be suitable for them, what regime would be beneficial and how to get the best out of the products they are using. I like to simplify and find solutions for clients of varying budgets that are often confused and misled by jargon and the sheer vastness of the ever-expanding world of skincare and beauty!

80% of your skin’s behaviour is a result of how you treat it

I WAS LED TO SKINCARE COACHING AFTER YEARS OF COLLEAGUES, FRIENDS AND FAMILY ASKING ME WHICH SKIN CARE THEY SHOULD CHOOSE

And the truth was that there isn't a quick response to that question. It isn't a case of "cure-all products"  and what works for my skin won't necessarily agree with yours. It's far more personal and requires a  deeper understanding of individual concerns before any recommendations or adjustments can be made, hence where a tailored approach comes in!

MY TREATMENT APPROACH IS VERY MUCH HANDS ON; MY FACIALS ARE THE PERFECT BLEND OF RESULTS MEET RELAXATION.

My client’s favourite combination is to book a Skincare Wardrobe Edit with one of my Facials. Using high quality professional products my facials are tailored to improving the texture and tone of your skin, using a variety of therapeutic massage, advanced technologies and techniques.

I EMBARKED ON MY CAREER IN THE BEAUTY INDUSTRY MORE THAN TWO DECADES AGO, KNOWING FROM AN EARLY AGE THAT I WAS INTERESTED IN SKINCARE.

I began by completing a two-year BTEC National Diploma in Beauty Therapy and Applied Sciences, achieving the highest Distinction award. Wanting to delve deeper into understanding the skin and advanced treatments I then embarked on a further two-year study with a first-degree honours in a FDSC Degree in Beauty Therapy and Health Studies, incorporating a 360 approach in anatomy, dermatology, nutrition and biology. Since then, I have enjoyed a career working with many different clients in salons, spas and 5*hotels as well as being a trainer for multiple skincare brands. Throughout the years I have continued my skin education, training in various facial techniques, with different brands and always learning more about the skin. I am also a member of BABTAC (British Association of Beauty Therapy and Cosmetology), for professionals who are committed to upholding the highest professional standards.

MY MORNING RITUAL:

Rehydratoion first!

After 8 hours sleep, I make sure that I have a glass of water before anything else. And a quick 5-minute stretch too wake up my muscles.

MY RIDE OR DIE:

the Dermaviduals Cleansing Milk

Choosing a favourite isn't an easy decision but cleansing your skin  properly is so important for barrier function  and skin's pH levels. This is one of the most universally effective, yet gentle cleansers, and leaves my skin feeling cleansed, hydrated and fresh!

MY GUILTY PLEASURE:

an oat flat white or a gin + tonic

Everything in moderation of course! That and walking in nature, modern day life can get intense. This just helps me to stay calm and grounded and if I'm short on time I'll kick my shoes off and stand bare feet on the grass in the garden!

MY FAVOURITE SKIN MANTRA:

“Be consistent and realistic about your skin. Having good skin is a marathon not a sprint.”

Improving skin health is not linear, your skin is a living and breathing organ and a complete reflection of everything going on inside your body, physically and mentally, so staying consistent with your skincare and riding the waves is key.

BEST PIECE OF ADVICE:

Skincare should not be a chore,
it should be your time for self care.

This by all means does not mean hours and layers of products, It most definitely is quality over quantity with skincare. However make it a habit, which means being consistent and not skipping routines. 80% of achieving your results will be you treating your skin, 20% will be professional treatments to boost what you do!
